European Court of Justice - Tower Exteriors

Location: Luxembourg
Architect: Dominic Perrault
Date: 2008
Project Type: Public Buildings and Arts
Size/Scope of Project: 7724 formed panels, 218,000 ft²
Golden anodized Alutherm fabric

These two 24-story towers complement the low, plain structure of the Palais de Justice. The gold-colored façade is formed using an anodized metal fabric especially developed for this project. Each of the 7,724 panels was installed between two window panes in a frame. A specific zigzag formed mesh edging gives the apparently seamless façade aesthetic depth.
